Vingerklip Lodge
Nestling in a timeless valley is the Vingerklip Lodge on the 3000 ha Farm Bertram that is surrounded by a game fence helping us to protect and preserve the animals. Vingerklip Lodge is located close to the popular Vingerklip, a 35 m high pillar of rock.
Our 1600 ha private reserve has 3 waterholes in various locations around the lodge with the main water-hole being flood lit at night. Various types of animals including Giraffe, Eland, Zebra, Kudus, Oryx, Springbok, Impala, Warthogs, Baboons and Steenbok frequently visit the waterholes and are also often spotted when following the walking trails.
Eagles Nest Restaurant, high above the Lodge on the Ugab Terraces, is reachable within 10 minutes walking.
Guests have the option to exchange one of the dinners at the lodge for an unforgettable Eagles Nest experience where traditional African cuisine is served at no extra charge.
Please note that the Eagles Nest Restaurant is limited to approximately 20 guests and booking is essential.
Walking the path up is not recommended for people with walking difficulties.
The atmosphere and views from here are simply breath taking!
Accommodation
- The 11 double unit thatched bungalows comprising 22 rooms with en suite bathrooms which are individually furnished and equipped to satisfy all travellers’ requirements.
- Each unit has a private terrace to complete the atmosphere of relaxation and tranquillity.
- 8 of the units offer loft accommodation for two children each.
- Set on top of the Ugab Terraces is the heaven’s gate luxury bungalow. With the well-known Eagles Nest Restaurant nearby on the same terrace, a good night’s sleep including dinner and breakfast can now all be enjoyed high above the surrounding landscape whilst taking in the soothing silence and breath taking views.
- The bungalow was built with the idea of exclusivity and solitude, perfect for those who want to get away from it all.
- Please note that this relaxing and exclusive accommodation is only accessible via a short mountain walkway and a 25m Metal staircase. Walking the path up is not recommended for people with walking difficulties.
