Okonjima Game Reserve 

The family-run Okonjima Lodge rests at the foot of the sandstone Omboroko Mountains amidst Acacia thornveld in a Malaria-free area. It is halfway between Namibia’s capital city, Windhoek, and the Etosha National Park – only a two-and-a-half-hour drive or a brief flight into the reserve’s private airstrip.

Accommodation

The Plains Camp – Standard Rooms: The 14 standard rooms all have a bush view overlooking the Okonjima grass plains. Each room has a small veranda and the rooms are set 15 – 20 meters apart, all some distance from the Boma and Lapa area. Each room has 2 double beds, a mini-fridge to store own drinks, a coffee/tea station, a roof-fan, a safe, and en-suite bathroom with twin basins and a larger shower.

The Plains Camp – View Rooms: The 10 view rooms all have a bush view overlooking the Okonjima grass plains. Each room has a large verandah and the rooms are set 25 – 75 meters apart, all some distance from the Boma and Lapa area. Each room has 2 double beds, a mini-fridge to store own drinks, a coffee/tea station, a roof-fan, a safe, and en-suite bathroom with twin basins and a larger shower. The View Rooms are set further apart than the Standard Rooms providing more privacy and are more spacious offering a unique, affordable, wilderness experience.

Bush Camp – Luxury Bush Chalets: 8 thatched, African-style chalets, with semi-detached, open lounge. Each exclusive chalet enjoys complete privacy, and is a unique combination of earthy ochre walls, glass windows and khaki-green canvas, under a thatched roof. Each chalet is equipped with: 2 queen-size beds, a desk with a telephone to contact reception, 2 comfortable leather chairs. Each Sala is equipped with: a lounge area with mini-bar, 2 couches and a coffee/tea station for that early morning ‘cuppa’.

Bush Camp – Junior Suite: Stunning view, a sliding glass, sliding door, 2 queen-size beds, an en-suite lounge with fire-place, bathtub and out-side ‘Bush-shower’. (Wheelchair Friendly).
