Nestled on Impalila Island in Namibia, Ichingo Chobe River Lodge is a tented lodge surrounded by breath-taking scenery, abundant wildlife, birdlife and ideal fishing conditions. Ichingo Chobe River Lodge is the perfect platform to experience all that the Chobe has to offer with the added benefit of being on the Namibian side of the river. Quieter, more secluded and personalized the lodge is ideal for families, couples or groups who wish to enjoy the very best of an African river safari.
Ichingo Chobe River Lodge offers a 2 or 3 night itinerary which includes a variety of activities for you to experience during your stay. These include game viewing by boat along the banks of the Chobe National Park, an excursion through the beautiful Kasai Channel to see the mighty Zambezi River and a guided walk on Impalila Island to visit our famous ancient Baobab tree. Fishing for the legendary Tiger fish is also an activity option.
Because of its unique geographic location, the game viewing and bird watching in and around Ichingo Chobe River Lodge is second to none. Plus, you can get up close and personal with the wildlife as you glide towards them silently on the tender boats. The lodge’s location is particularly well known for its high quality fishing in over 100kms of the Chobe and Zambezi Rivers, where you can hook a tiger fish, bream and several other fresh water species.
Accommodation
- Ichingo Chobe River Lodge is equipped with 8 Meru Safari Tents, each sleeping 2 adults
- One family tent is available sleeping 2 adults and up to 4 children aged 12 and under
- All tented suites have en-suite bathrooms (shower only) with standard hotel amenities
- All tented suites have 2 x ¾ single beds which can be made up as twin or king bed configuration
- All tented suites have their own private balcony overlooking the enchanting Chobe River
- All tented suites have air conditioning and an electronic safe

Facilities
Ichingo Chobe River Lodge main building consists of a communal open air lounge and bar area, with an adjoining open air dining and deck area.
A communal pool is located on the other side of the lounge area, overlooking the Chobe River.
Activities
- Water-based game viewing and bird watching from tender boats which allow up-close encounters
- Tiger and bream fishing in season (tiger fishing is strictly catch and release)
- Impalila Island Tour to see an ancient baobab, or a cultural experience at a local Namibian Village
- Ichingo Chobe River Lodge has its own professionally trained guides, highly experienced and resident to the Chobe area.
